Idaho's governor last week re-affirmed that there will be no new coal-powered plants in the Gem State, either. A San Diego-based utility (Sempra, I believe) had been trying to get a plant built in southwest Idaho, but was turned down or threw in the towel months ago. Don't know if that plant's power was to be transmitted south for California consumers or what. We have several natural gas-fired power plants right here in north Idaho, along with all that fabulously clean hydropower that's cranked out all around the region.
