Kind of ironic, isn't it? On one side of the globe, we've got radical Islamists wanting to take the entire world back to the 7th century, and on this side of the globe, we have clueless radical utopians who want to do the same thing, but only to the US. Their motto seems to be "if it works, there must be something wrong with it, so we must ban it."
They don't want coal-fired, they don't want gas-fired, they don't want nuclear, they don't want windmills (at least where they can see them). They want the forests to burn rather than be managed.
Even the existing coal-fired plants are far cleaner than they used to be; the newest generation is far cleaner than that. This means nothing to the spoiled brat eco-nuts.
Nobody wants to dirty up the planet, but the mindless opposition to anything and everything is not productive in the least. It might make some of these idiots feel better, but it doesn't accomplish a damn thing.
