The gullible masses continue to buy into the notion that they need more stuff--and that there had better be juice in the wire to make it run. At the same time, they want to transfer the "carbon footprint" onto somebody else. NOBODY wants the evil power plant(s) in their back yard (or State)--but it better be available from somewhere. We can't burn (cleanly) what we mine out of the ground, we can't drill in Anwar, nuclear is still the "other 'N' word", but we can sure dang well burn our food--and somehow do it cleaner (we think). I don't get it anymore. China continues to construct coal plants at a rapid rate--but somehow, it's all "America's fault" if somebody thinks that a cyclical rise in world temperature is caused by humankind. "Science", as we all know, is never wrong--even though most of their "findings" have been debunked by subsequent discoveries. About all that we can really count on are the basic laws of physics (which were theorized and proven hundreds of years ago by guys in robes working without expensive labratories and Government study grants). Thankfully, when the lights go out, it might be warm enough that we won't get too cold:).
"Give me what I want and leave me alone. I must have nothing unpleasant within 10 miles of my domicile. If something bad happens, it is your fault. If my actions are potentially destructive, I must be allowed to continue my actions but transfer the consequences elsewhere." [I actually heard of a plan yesterday where it is theorized that large amounts of pulverized car tires could be deposited into certain parts of potentially destructive hurricanes to cause them to be "steered" away (certainly away from the "precious" parts of the planet--like us). That's great--we could steer potential destruction away from us, and into some irrelevant landmass.]
Read the book folks. Somebody told about this a long time ago:) <><
