Union Pacific Employee Killed By Train in Martinez CA

Amtrak trains are delayed by about an hour today after a Union Pacific railroad employee was struck and killed by a freight train in Martinez, authorities said.
The collision happened at 12:35 p.m. near Bridgehead and Mococo roads near Interstate 680, Martinez police said. The man's identity was withheld pending notification of his family.
The victim was hit by a Union Pacific train, said railroad spokesman James Barnes, who declined to release additional information due to the ongoing investigation.
Police said the man had been working on the tracks before he was hit.
The railroad's tracks are used by Union Pacific and Amtrak trains. Amtrak has a station in Martinez.
