I do want it to succeed. There is no other rail line I've shot more than the Santa Cruz branch and it is one of my favorite rail lines anywhere. I want them to focus on drumming up sustainable and profitable freight business (if any) instead of starting a pointless excursion service. The primary difference between the current NWP and this Santa Cruz operation is that the NWP did it right, by putting their money (and taxpayer money) where their mouth is and opening the railroad for regular freight service to five customers without fanfare, expensive and unprofitable excursions and silencing all critics in the process. This doesn't seem to be the case with the Santa Cruz short line.
I sincerely hope I'm wrong, which I wasn't with all I said about the NWP.
