That sure brings back memories for me too of the mid-1980s! My step-dad who is now deceased and I would hang out at the Colton Crossing. When I thought there would be a quiet moment, I would walk down to the street that ran adjacent to the I10 Freeway on the Northside, it was the first road crossing compasswise North of the Crossing on the modern day BNSF and there was a Baskin Robbins/31 Flavors Ice Cream Store. I'd buy a Root Beer Float with French Vanilla Ice Cream. On a warm or hot day of railfanning, it tasted oh, so good. Plus, again, it was right next to the main line. Just east of there was a Carrow's Restaurant, and my step-dad and I would eat there for Breakfast in the morning before hanging out at the X-ing or even going up to railfan Beaumont Hill. Yes, I too miss Naugles. At least we still have the related company, Del Taco, but the closest one to me is 5 hours away. Again, thanks for the memories.
