Not quite as busy, but still interesting were the views from this diner that sat east of the station in Williams, AZ. The gradient of the Peavine was low enough there to give you a look at the transcontinental, the Grand Canyon Ry. and the Peavine.

The Butcher of Bena & I made an unplanned quick trip out there in Spring of '93 when they still ran steam year 'round. While we were having breakfast, I noticed 2-8-0 29 backing to the carshop and said to Rick, " hey, look at that". A start of a really fine day. As I rremember, food was decent too.
