I think the Van De Kamp's in Glendale is gone, but how about Ping's ??? It is ( was ??? ) a Phillipino restaurant near VDK, maybe on Fletcher Drive. It had lotsa food sold dirt - cheap, and served up buffet - style. You didn't have to know the names of the dishes, just point to it through the sneeze guard.
The Zonos in Fullerton is, twice - removed, now a Mexican restaurant. However, as noted there is a Spaghetti Factory nearby, in the old SP, LA & SL depot. Also nearby is a Knollwoods burger place, with a partial view of BNSF / Amtrak / Metrolink trains on the Harbor Blvd. overpass. The original Knollwood, on Imperial Hwy. just South of Orangethorpe in Anaheim Hills, is long gone. It has been replaced by a newer one that doesn't have a view of the 3rd District mainline.
Here in Seattle, several of the better trackside places have disappeared. There was a great restaurant in ballard, overlooking the Locks and BNSF drawbridge #4; however it is now only open for catered weddings and banquets. And Gordo's burger joint, on Shilsole Ave. just below the BNSF / Ballard Terminal RR interchange tracks, closed several years ago.
