As some of you know, my father, Frank (FB) Thompson was an NP brakeman, conductor and BN conductor, as well as a serious photographer. He really liked the Timken and took several photos of her.
A memory I have is of having hamburgers at Busch's Drive in on South Tacoma Way, with a view of the So. Tacoma shops. We saw the smokebox front fall from the 2626 as they were cutting her up, ruined dad's meal for him.
