Dick, if no trains run to Wilder on October 9th, it will not be due to track conditions from Casino to Wilder. NOTE: There never were plans to travel to Davenport.
The following was stated at the September 20th SCCRTC meeting while I was present:
Except for a small section of track between California Ave. and Swift Street, the track from Casino to Wilder is all Class 1. Because there will not be enough time to upgrade this small section of track to Class 1 before the October 9th train runs, the SC&MB will not charge to take passengers from Casino to Wilder and back to Casino. The train will be designated as an inspection train and SC&MB will absorb the cost for the locomotive, crew and fuel. The SCCRTC will pick up the charges for Wayne Yetter’s passenger cars.
BTW, I just tried calling California Rail Tours and the message says the line is disconnected or no longer in service.
