Train Excursion on ex-SP Mainline

Southern Pacific Historical & Technical Society (SPH&TS) is proud to
announce that its annual convention will be held this year in Ventura,
California on October 10-14, 2012. Participants will be able to ride
a train excursion along the pre-1904 SP Coast Mainline on the Fillmore &
Western Railway. We will be traveling on tracks seldom used by the
railroad’s passenger trains from west of Saticoy all the way to Piru. The
railroad travels through citrus groves as well as the towns of Saticoy,
Santa Paula, Fillmore, and Piru. A BBQ dinner is included after the
return train trip.

For a limited time only, the general public and railfans in particular, are
being offered the opportunity to participate in this rare mileage trip.
The price is $170 per person. Reservations and payment in full must be
received no later than noon on Wednesday October 3, 2012. Please email
