As a UCSC student and someone who grew up riding the Big Trees Railroad, I'm still excited to see what Iowa Pacific does. I think that the beauty of the coast from Santa Cruz to Davenport will provide a good alternative for people coming to Santa Cruz who may enjoy the Big Trees, but would also like to try something different. I think far too many people are pessimistic about this whole endeavor. But if all the acquisition stuff works out, I hope everyone will be as excited as me, if not more so, to see even more trains rolling in the Santa Cruz area, regardless of your politics.
