One thing that I adore about this hobby is its limitless ability to connect our interest with trains and other aspects of culture, economics, society, geography, cartography and history. There can't be another hobby that is this diverse and rich. Without our thirst for knowledge about this planet's railroads, would any of us even know about Rhyolite, Nevada much less some obscure, defunct stock from a century ago? I think not.
