THe UP won't allow any but its own steam engines out on its tracks and the SP 2472 and SP 4449 are precluded in that edict. So unless UP unleashes their 3985 and/or the 844, we are
s--- outta luck---and the chances of that happening are pretty slim, in view of the fact that the closest the 844 got to the Bay Area was Sacto on its current 150 year jaunt around the property. Very discouraging.
