The Oregon Pacific Railroad is pleased to again host the popular "Holiday Express" operating out of "Oaks Park Station" adjacent to historic Oaks Park in Portland December 7-9 and 14-16th. At this point the SP 4449 will be featured both weekends as the SP&S 700 has again been invited to a BNSF function in Vancouver, Washington the second weekend. However, the SP&S 700 may be on display under steam at OPR's East Portland yard December 14-15 when they stop to pick up a caboose enroute to the BNSF event.

Members of NARCOA will again be giving motorcar "speeder" rides to the public and this year will be operating a "wide gauge detector" over the track designed by OPR owner Dick Samuels to find any wide gauge hopefully before the locomotive does. The speeder group has just completed their fall cleanup so that photos of the event should be as "garbage free" as possible.

ORHF has been cooperative in providing the OPR with funding to install over 400 ties and surface and realign the troublesome curve where previous derailments have ocurred for (hopefully) a fun and flawless event.

All proceeds go to ORHF to acquire property and build a home for Portland's three steam locomotives.

Ticket sales are again being handled by Tickets West and additional details are available on the ORHF website www.ORHF.org
