San Jose has never had a real interest in historic preservation and it never will. If it did, the Lenzen designed city hall would stand where today there is a park dedicated to some deadbeat farmworker name Cesar something. The Hall of Records would would still be standing instead of a filled in fountain. Holy Family Church would still stand. And on and on.
World class museum? San Jose never has had or ever will have anything to match that over used term. We sure as hell don't have a world class city council sitting in the Taj Magonzales. Nothing but a bunch of over inflated egos sucking up tax money. The last decent person on the council was the late Virginia Schaffer.
As the late Lucius Beebe once said in reference to San Jose "For pig people, a pig sty will do."
