I last hirailed it with the Clark County folks when they were looking for a replacement operator for the Lewis & Clark and did a bit of probono consulting for them and at that time it was pretty rough in spots. That was at least four years ago, however.

I have noticed contractors doing work on the line and in particular a new passing track nearly underneath the I-205 overpass.

Assuming that Clark County came up with some funding to match whatever the Temples invested, by now the line could be up to Class I, but 10 or even 15 mph is pretty boring for a dinner train. I do, however, feel that the Clark County location has its advantages over farther up north as the Portland area is becoming more and more yuppy/touristy friendly and these folks have MONEY to spend and it might as well go into running a railroad.
