Roland,

You never know. Sierra Northern had plans to run a Suntan Special to Santa Cruz in conjunction with Amtrak or CalTrain after the County took possession of the line. They would have run the special train Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day. I think Iowa Pacific could make this happen as soon as 2014.
