Trains #510 & #517 are using Superliner equipment while one Talgo trainset gets new seats. The Superliner diner (a referbushed diner set up for one person operation, with tiny tables, also referred to as lounge)used is not MU capable, so no cabcars, the train is wyed both ends. Sometimes in Seattle the equipment is wyed with the Starlight at the Coach wye, north end of the Argo yard area. Wying the train in Vancouver extends the crews time on duty so there are two engineers so the round trip will not die on hours of service. Higher Talgo speeds are not available in Canada because no Ministry of Transport aproval. P-42's are preferred by the crews, roomier cab, more power, cruise control. P-42's are not qualified to run Talgo speeds so any Talgo with P-42's will run at passenger speed.
