Hey Al Doten--
Not only is it too bad that SP-10 wasn't preserved in a Calif Museum-- but it is also too bad that it could not have avoided the collision with the truck years ago that made it a single-ended car..
When I rode it between the Oakland Mole and Sacramento, it was a beautiful double-ended Budd RDC..
I rode one of the last trips with it on the NWP in 1971 along with Eric Witt and Arthur Lloyd.
April 16-17, 1971.. Filmed the entire roundtrip, Willitts to Eureka and Return on motion picture FILM..
I plan to include the footage on my Mega-DVD production coming in Late-2008. April-1971 was a great month for SP Excursions:
April 4th-- 22 Car "Rio Vista Junction Limited"
April 16-17---- BUDD RDC SP-10 on NWP
April 25th-- 22 Car "Truckee Limited"
Note: Truckee Limited trip will be on same DVD as SP-10/ NWP trip....
Cheers.
