FYI: Other than SP-10, only 3 RDCs operated in California. Santa Fe 191 operated between Los Angeles and San Diego. Sometime in the early 50s it was involved in a grade crossing accident and was exiled to New Mexico. It is preserved but inoperable in the collection of the Pacific Railroad Society in Los Angeles.

The WP had two RDC-2s that operated as the "Zephyrette" between Oakland and Salt Lake City on a tri-weekly schedule opposite that of the CZ. After discontinuance they were sold to an East Coast commuter railroad. Both reported to have been scrapped.

Its a shame to see SP-10 deteriorating in Texas but I know of no museum with the funds or the interest to try and save it.
