As an aside, some of UP's F9m units, which as noted still looked like F3's externally, were bought second - hand by Rock Island. Many kept their basic UP colors and HUGE pilot show plows, which looked out of place on the Midwest Granger RR. Also, the F9m units were not fully upgraded, electrically speaking. Because of this, I recall they were only up - rated to 1500 h.p., not the 1750 h.p. of a real F9.
