Los Angeles / Long Beach harbor rail access.

Visited the container side of Long Beach, California. Highly recommended for railfans.

Los Angeles and Long Beach ports are combined in several ways. Worth wandering around on the public streets. Miles of chain-link fence; visibility minimally blocked.

Once-upon a time, all container trains wandered down back alleys, at minimal speeds and sounds that prevented sleeping, conversation and TV. These routes were kept for service to local customers.

A trench for container trains was built, extending many miles to the North, connecting with the mainlines. Worth finding and watching from many overpasses with sidewalks.

Are chainlink fence expanders available ?
