The idea of a "joint" SP operation at Niles, featuring the PLA, GGRM, and Santa Clara groups would be the best solution overall. Sure, there are politics in every group, and different leaders have ideas as to how to proceed. Compromise is therefore the order of the day.

Legally combine "all" memberships, equipment and monetary assets into ONE parent group.
Have an outside audit firm conduct an election of brand new leaders. This new Board of Directors would then elect brand new committee and department heads, starting out fresh and doing away with those who have probably been in office far too long.

With the Lenzen Roundhouse re-constructed in historic Niles, you would have the perfect facility to house THREE "SP Pacifics" and other locomotives that the Board decided would needed to be placed inside...
And YES, "WYES" could be constructed in Niles and Pleasanton if the group quits bickering and forges ahead under able leadership. "Pacifics" could run again in Niles Canyon as they used to.
# 2475 used to run thru there a lot in the 50's...
If the "naysayers" get their way as they have so far, these locomotives will "NEVER" run again in our lifetime and I can guarantee you just THAT !!
This is a gift from GOD that situations have taken place that brings these three organizations
together... Don't let the possibilities slip thru your fingers. You will regret it.

Seeing THREE SP steam locos in Niles along with the historic SP diesels from OTR,et al, would produce a "Southern Pacific engine roster" far greater than what CSRM trys to offer.
Think about it.. Be Proactive and jump now while the time is right.
Thanks to all.
