There were actually 3 derailments in West Colton on Friday, two in the yard and one on the main line at Slover. All were relatively minor.

The one you're asking about was the results of a backhoe being parked between two yard tracks that made contact with 6 ballast cars being shoved, resulting in 3 ending up on their sides.
