Donner Pass

We will be in the Bay Area and have a day off and we think that a trip to Donner Pass would be a good idea but we need some help.

We plan to take I-80 as far as Truckee. Are there any good photo spots at the Pass or close to the Pass?

What is the frequency of freights?

Any other places around Truckee that we should not miss?
