GE cuts 950 jobs at PA locomotive plant

Wall Street Journal 4/9/13

950 jobs cut at GE's Erie, PA plant; will retain 4,500 workers.
160 jobs will be moved to Ft Worth, TX.
Cited lower demand for new locomotives due to falling coal prices; railroads have parked 3,000 locomotives in the past year.

Last year, Caterpillar closed its locomotive assembly plant in London, Ontario (Canada), and transferred production to its factory in Muncie, Illinois.
