All Capitols use the Niles Sub.

Normal practice for the Starlight is still the Mulford Line (Coast Sub); it does not serve Fremont or Hayward. But it can be routed either way. Today it was sent Niles Sub...and rolled
snake-eyes.

Plan is to cut the lead unit and inspect the trail unit for damage. If it's OK, train will reverse over five miles to Newark and proceed on the Mulford Line (Coast Sub) to Oakland. A second unit will have to be added somewhere along the route.
