The first construction was from Donkey Creek to Belle Ayr ( site of the ARCO mine. BTW, ARCO built the line to reach their site) in 1972. As mines opened up in the region, the track moved south and north from Orin. USGS maps as of 1990 only showed the line from Donkey Creek to Belle Ayr. Orginally all train order and timetable with 5-10 mile long sidings.
