Yet another shining example of the need to quash the idea of one-man-in-the-cab operations....Delayed Within the Block rules are different for ABS and CTC...If a Form A speed restriction was in effect, did the Conductor/Engineer communicate this two miles in advance?...How short are these blocks?...Did the Engieer see the train ahead's clear block from his vantage point- and think it was his? (think curvature, perspective, gradiant).
What does red over yellow actually mean on that subdivision/district- is it modified by a System General Order or Subdivision Special Instruction?...Was the Engineer genuinely rested?...Is ABS/TWC REALLY on code lines nationwide, or is it still magnetic in some locations?...The GCOR does not identify any signal as Approach Restricting, except for the 'new' one: Yellow over Lunar...And if you think Engineers are REALLY tested on every foot of their district- oh, gosh!
