Actually it IS a run-on sentence. Your post reads:

The imperative is the only instance in proper English where the subject of the sentence isn't explicitly stated. What you did was to join two complete sentences with a comma when you should have used either a semicolon or ", and", ", but", etc. You could have made it a clause by using ", so", but you even failed to do this.
