You just don't get it do you? You joined two separate sentences improperly. It's as salient as the proboscis on your physiognomy.

It has absolutely /nothing/ to do with the thoughts contained therein; it has everything to do with splicing two separate subjects and verbs together without the proper conjunction. That wikipedia link is quite plain and clear. It even gives an example of a run-on sentence which is exactly like the one you typed. If you had read (and studied) it, you would know this by now. However, this is based on the charitable assumption that you have good reading comprehension, and judging from the grammar, syntax, and usage knowlege you've demonstrated so far, the assumption appears to have been misguided.

If you had used a semicolon before "get . . ." there would be no grounds for discussion. You owe Strunk and White some serious apologies.
