Orchard had also embarked on a fairly aggressive remodeling program of some of their older properties, the Cottle Road store in San Jose (California) for one and others were in the mill. The latest of which was with the Flagship store in San Jose on Santa Clara Street. Trying to fund these activities after a buy out from Sears/Kmart may have been to much of a financial load. It will be interesting to see what they do with the Cottle Road store as Lowe's opened a brand new facility a couple of blocks away from OSH a couple of years ago. Can there be that much OSH customer loyalty to keep the OSH store open with Lowe's so close? I know when I couldn't get what I needed from OSH (Outta Stock Hardware) I would go down the street and Lowe's would have it. I guess with OSH out of the way, Lowe's can consentrate on beating it out with Home Depot. I wonder if OSH/Lowe's will keep their commitment with the California Trolley and Railroad Corp. to move and paint the box car to and paint the caboose at Kelly Park which will be located behind SP 060 Switch Locomotive (also in San Jose, California.)?
