That northbound UP manifest apparently made a turn at Samuels, ID, the backwood siding north of Sandpoint where cars to/from POVA are typically picked up/set out by a UP manifest. A UP local that runs north from Sandpoint usually shuttles the POVA cars out to Samuels so the big road trains don't block crossings (including the BNSF diamond) in Sandpoint while switching.

So, what came back down through Spokane this afternoon looked more like a revival of the old MSNHK symbol that once handled excess lumber traffic from Sandpoint area mills. Looked like 30 or more loaded centerbeams, plus a few tank cars from the paper mill at Usk, WA.

Also this afternoon, a nearly solid train of Richardson grain cars rolled west through Spokane, with BNSF power 2x3. My guess is it came south through Sweetgrass, MT.
