As most locomotive engineers who have been around a while will agree, the SD40-2 is probably the best locomotive ever built. Put three of those together, and you can move a mountain. Smooth riding, good sidewall heaters, and a control stand set up the way God intended. That railroads are still rebuilding forty year old units today and letting them out on the main line should tell everyone how good these units were and are. I wish I had one everyday I went to work.
