This Thursday July 4th, the Oregon Pacific Railroad will be hosting a passenger train rides event near Oaks Amusement Park, in Portland, Oregon.

We’ll be offering trains rides via our GMD-1 diesel locomotive, open air car, former logging caboose and a restored UP caboose.

We’ll also be offering speeder (railroad motor cars) rides.

Our Portland Traction Company No. 100 EMD SW1 and Southern Pacific Business Car Santa Rosa will be on display at Oaks Station and possibly give a few rides from Oaks south to Golf Junction, depending on crew availability.

Event starts at 10am and we’ll be there past 10pm when the Oaks Parks Fireworks display begins.

Train rides and speeder rides are $5 per person and a ride in the cab of one of our locomotives is only $10 per person. Can't beat those prices!

We’ll be stopping at the Oregon Rail Heritage Center on each run, when it’s open for business 1-5pm, so passengers can deboard and visit the museum and catch a later train back or visitors to the museum can ride the train from there and back.
