I guess the Cheney-Rumsfeld-Bush administration with its stranglehold on Congress (which is both houses, BTW) had noting to do with the situation. I was reading the Rise and Fall of the Third Reich by William Shirer at the time all this was transpiring. The first two or three chapters chronicled the legislative an political maneuverings of how the Nazis took power. At one point I began to wonder whether I was reading a current newspaper or a book.
All you people seem to think people like Feinstein, Pelosi, and Boxer have sticks with stars on the ends which they use to make things magically happen. And they're part of a mendacious conspiracy, like the Protocols of the Elders of Zion (which has been proven time and again to be a disinformation creation by the Tsarist secret police in the 1880s).
You have a very superficial understanding of politics, which Norquist et al take advantage of.
