Funny how the NTSB made recommendations for decades for the railroads to install PTC and it consistently fell on deaf ears.
Then, they made ONE accident report where a recommendation was made for inward-facing cameras and the industry jumps on it in a heartbeat.
When it comes to recommendations made by the NTSB, the industry apparently likes to "cherry pick" which ones they will follow through on and which ones they will ignore.
Airline pilots unions have, thus far, managed to hold off on inward facing cameras. They've said cockpit voice recorders are good enough. I wonder how long that will hold?
So how far up the "food chain" will this policy extend? How soon can President Obama and the Supreme Court justices expect to have inward facing cameras staring at them in THEIR workplaces? How about the CEO of UP? How about Warren Buffet?
What would our world be like without double-standards?
