Saw a SP 70 ton in Davis CA about 1966. It was parked on the west valley line siding near the old Safeway on G st. This unit had fresh scarlet and grey paint with with no Southern Pacific lettering and probably no number. Must have been painted in Sacramento and was heading back to Oregon with the lumber empties. Seems like yesterday as I was only ten at the time.
