Re: 70 tonner in San Jose

I remember seeing a 70 tonner on the garden track next to the San Jose Roundhouse in the early '70s. I didn't have my camera with me and by the time I returned the engine was gone. It was my understanding that it was being leased to the Permenente(sp?)Cement Company for use at their plant while their center cab switcher was out of service for repairs.
