Maybe some good news for P&L and Fallon station in particular----Whitman County Growers and Genesee Union Warehouse Co. are merging, one of the reasons listed is the rail at Fallon. Genesee Union lost all rail service in 1986 when the Genesee Branch was shut down and pulled up. Merger more than doubles the storage capacity of Whitman County Growers. It could be a great deal for rail if they can get hooked early. Genesee Union has been buying up elevators in the area and have grown quite large and also have expanded their seed processing capacity, if there could be a place found to load boxcars they might do that too.
