Basically nothing but a good excuse in my opinion. Here are four photos I took April 19, 2003. The slip-out occurred during flooding and this is low water. Still, nothing that couldn't be repaired in a day or less if it was a line that needed to be used.

I would like to see MRL have a chance at this line, but I don't think BNSF would make a deal that made any operational sense for MRL. Plus, all the traffic that used this line now goes to Laurel and comes all the way back across MRL to Helena. That has some definite financial advantage for MRL too.
