Rainier Avenue underpass is being replaced, first class

Shattuck Avenue underpass, south of McLendon's Hardware and the Milwaukee substation is being replaced with two two-lane structures. The previous structure had severe vertical and lateral restrictions; and thousands of scars. The new structures will have significant vertical restrictions; enforced by structural steel cutter blades at the lower edges of the beams. Know your height.

The bridge over the Cedar River has been replaced and is being detailed. Precast concrete. No more vertical or horizontal clearance restrictions; for the Boeing fuselages.

When these projects are completed, Boeing traffic will return to Everett, Seattle, and Black River Junction. Operation thru Renton will always be unique.
