The Southwestern derailment is a sad deal. Bayard is on the line which serves the anode mill and
branches off to Fierro which is at the end after passing several ghost towns. The ex-Santa Fe
station is still standing in Bayard, we used to eat lunch across the street. The track is not in
bad shape and mostly 10 mph making a derailment that serious even sadder.
