Possible, good chance if the front windows imploded or front cab door failed if I'm correct how far it skidded.
Assuming it was a runaway, also have to consider one or more tried or did jump. The rule books don't say anything when to jump or ride it out. I was standing on the fron of a high nose 9 once when we ate a forklift at low speed. I gave a washout and went towards the forklift and dove around the nose. If I had jumped, the whole load of lumber would have been dumped on me. I have no idea why I made the decision I did.
The whole idea is to avoid, if at all possible, getting into bad situations. And pray for those that find themselves in them. I always thought if no one was killed or injured in the derailment or subsequent cleanup that it was a "succesful" derailment.
