That sir, is a masterful understatement!
Considering how, on BART's mechanical and electronically troubled SFO extension, they tattooed, glued, and screwed BART - to the wall; as well as several subs on the project. After which they gloriously unscrewed BART; only to then unceremoniously screw them again!
Oh well! That multi-billion dollar ripoff was peanuts compared to other government "Charlie Foxtrots", of which there are many currently extant in the land - with much more to come.
Given all the graft and incompetent political interference that so literally defines California (and Washington); I still can't help but wonder - Why are we so surprised, to see CHSRA make such a spectacular "train wreck" of a mere "40 billion" public project.
Anyone that wanted to look, could've easily seen that coming! And many did. But they were ignored and often branded, as usual; due to the biases, favoritisms, covert interests and hidden agendas of the politicians involved.
If anyone here thinks that America deserve high speed trains, or even just deserves better in general; well, not as long as we continue to re-elect corporately beholden, intellectually dishonest, partisan politicians, to do our bidding. Tain't gonna happen!
It's simple cause and effect here, folks! --- Do the stupid; you get stupid back!
