Matt, it's very good to hear that anything I did, especially 12 years ago, is even remembered or appreciated by anyone. The magazine world has not been very supportive of my efforts in recent years, but that's another story. Newfoundland is actually in a rural/suburbia with a multi-lane highway close by as well as mini-marts, a Dunkin Donuts, etc. If you're up for a hike, the rest area on the north side of the highway at Charlotteburg Reservoir (just east of Newfoundland) has trails leading up to some barren rocks where you can get great views and photos, especially in the fall.
