Don't feel too bad, you are not alone. Some time ago I posted some pix that over the years I had convinced myself were (1) the last SP 98, and (2) the first Amtrak 99 or whatever they called the northbound train on May 1, 1971. To my embarrassment somebody (WAF?) had the train sheets and the engine numbers showed that my pix were of the second to last SP 98, and the second northbound Amtrak. C'est la vie. Memory is an unreliable archive, something that I think historians need to keep in mind when we discuss these distant events.
