That's a very impressive photo of a beautiful
scene. Too bad the McCloud is gone..... :(
It is a wonder it lasted as long as it did.
At least the 18 and the 25 are preserved.

I have good memories of riding behind the 18 back
in the fall of 2004, with Malen Johnson (who else?) as
the hoghead. Took him 3 tries (IIRC) to make it up that
4% grade with just the 2 cars (coach and double-decker
open car) but we made it. Had a nice run-by at the Lake
Britton bridge, too. It was COLD then, too. I am very
glad I rode it. Not good to take things like that for granted.
