Roper Yard traffic

Why are there so many cars in Roper Yard (Salt Lake City, UT)? If I understand correctly, UP runs only one through train a day each way on the Moffat Line. I know there's some local traffic, and coal, and the auto unload facility is there. But there still seem to be far too many cars in Roper for the traffic level that it sees...
